who is the muse?

​"The Gaming Muse" began as a tumblr blog in the early 2010s, writing reviews and analyzes of video games. Around 2012, I started a Youtube channel with the same name, turning the essays into videos, almost entirely about my favorite series, Silent Hill. Today there are more than 400 videos on the channel, including essay videos discussing lore and symbolism, documentaries about the making of games series, live streams chatting about and reacting to new releases, and streams of games and book discussions.

 

While I still love Youtube, writing has always been my first love, and Youtube as a website has only become harder to make a career from. So while I will continue to post and stream whenever I can, I'd like to make writing my major focus - which is where this site comes in!

 

As for who I am: I'm Muse, a thirty something nerd from the American Southeast. I majored in English and Creative writing in college, then spent about six years in Retail Hell before moving into Youtube and the internet as a career.

 

I write more nonfiction than anything, but I also write fiction (and fanfiction ;D) and hope to share more of those as well one day. I love horror, monsters, scary movies and books, manga and anime, video games, and reading anything I can get my hands on.
